Product Description

Unimer's Drainman is powered by the tugs created on the mooring line from wind, surf and wave - so essentially it's powered by nature. This second generation of Drainman features a new design with upgraded materials that increase durability. There's also a new neoprene cover that protects the pump from sunlight as well as wear and tear. he bilge pump can be fitted to mooring lines fore, aft or on the side of your boat - it can even be placed between your boat and dinghy.

So how does Drainman Dinghy Bilge Pump work?

Simply connect the pump to your mooring line and boat, weigh down the hose in the lowest point of the boat and nature will take care of the rest. Tugs on the mooring line created by wind, surf and waves enable the hose to suck up water before it is pumped out - so the pump works continuously and contains no electrics that may fail.

Water is pumped out through the hose placed in the lowest point of the boat. A small weight can be attached to, or simply placed upon the eye bolt at the intake to ensure the hose is positioned correctly. A sieve on the eye bolt keeps dirt out of the hose and is easy to clean. The hose is three metres long but can be extended to 6 metres using the Drainman extension hose (sold separately).

This second generation model is constructed from tough materials and can withstand forces up to 5,000 newton. As mentioned earlier, the pump works round the clock and can pump up to 2,500 litres of water every 24 hours. The self priming bilge pup has a suction height of up 2o 2.5 metres and a suction length of up to 8 metres.

How to install Drainman:

1. Drainman features two loops - one on either side. One loop is connected to a mooring line by means of a shackle or snap hook; the line is then attached to the mooring point (for example on a jetty). Mooring springs should not be used.

2. The loop on the other side is connected to the boat using a shackle or snap hook, such that the Drainman is attached between the boat and mooring point. Ensure the hose and label are facing up when installing and that the pump is kept above the surface of the water.

3. Place the sieve of the suction hose in the lowest point of the boat where it can easily drain the water. To increase stability, a weight may be placed at the end of the suction sieve loop.
