Product Description
Epifanes Rubbed Effect Varnish is a hard one-component interior varnish that is based on urethane alkyd resins. Suitable for all interior softwood and hardwood, the formula provides a hard satin finish that is impervious to most onboard chemicals and has superb scratch and scuff resistance.
For maximum durability, apply two coats of the satin varnish over several coats of Epifanes Clear Gloss Varnish, Wood Finish Gloss or Polyurethane Clear Gloss.

I have used a number of times, both on cabin sole and cabinetry. It’s a finish coat (max 2 coats recommended, so fill with gloss first). Seems to be hard wearing, having oil and coolant on it with no Ill-effect. Very slight sheen (less than satin more than Matt). When applied to floors it will be slippery initially but that fades over 1-2 weeks; don’t know why. Recommend thinned (maybe 5%). It settles surprisingly well, so any obvious ‘flaws’ when applied will often disappear.
