24V Boat Inverter

An inverter converts DC (direct current) to AC (alternating current), which enables you to operate appliances and equipment such as hairdryers, mobile phone chargers and power tools.

The output power you require depends on the total wattage of the devices that you want to run, this infomration can be found on a label on the product or its packaging. It's recommended that you use an inverter with 20-50% extra of the totl power required, with a minimum 2x power of the largest device that you will be using, in order to protect yourself from a current surge when the device is starting up. 

There are two main types of inverter - modified sine wave and pure sine wave.

Modified Sine Wave: 
Modified Sine Wave Inverters are cheaper but are less powerful and may produce some interference. Modified Sine Wave Inverters will not work with many appliances and use around 20% more power - as a result of this, they will be hotter and will not last as long as their Pure counterparts.

Pure Sine Wave:
Pure Sine Wave Inverters can power just about any AC appliance and are extremely useful for powering devices that can suffer from interference, like radios. The power produced by Pure sine wave inverters is cleaner, smoother, quieter and more reliable.
