An aluminium alloy anode that is very different from normal aluminium as it includes around 5% zinc and a trace of indium which prevents the build-up of an oxide layer.
The aluminium anode alloy provides more protection and also lasts longer than zinc. It will work in fresh water and is safe for use in salt water.
