Class B Transponders require a dedicated GPS Antenna, as well as a VHF Antenna or suitable VHF-AIS Splitter. All class B units must have their own internal GPS and can't use an external feed for regulatory purposes, as well as a VHF antenna or suitable VHF-AIS Antenna splitter.
Digital Yacht's GV30 is a combination antenna with both GPS and VHF twin coax feeds. The antenna is fitted with a standard 1" threaded base, so will mount on a variety of deck, pole and rail attachments. The 10-metre coax cables are terminated with a FME mini connector, which makes running the cable easy as the connector is barely bigger than the 5mm cable.
Despite its compact size (height - 190mm, diameter - 75mm), the antenna offers excellent performance as it's specifically tuned to 162MHz (AIS frequency).
Key Features:
Combination AIS/VHF and GPS antenna.
High gain GPS element.
Specifically tuned to 163 MHz.
Standard 1" threaded base for compatibility with a variety of 3rd party mounts. (Mount not included)
Supplied with 2 x 10m cable fails fitted with mini connectors for easy cable installation.
Supplied with TNC (GPS) and BNC (AIS) adaptors.
Under 200mm high for low profile installation.
As with all digital yacht equipment it is an excellent product.
Well made and good information..
Just the job
Works fine. Would have been nice if variable cable lengths could be selected. I only needed half the length and you get some signal loss with the extra length.
