Inflatable Boat Pumps
Inflatable pumps come in a whole host of shapes and sizes, from 12V inflatable boat pumps, to hand pumps, foot pumps and even rechargeable inflatable boat pumps. Mostinflatable dinghies, kayaks andpaddle boards do include a pump, but these are not as effective or powerful as inflatable boat pumps.
Whether you’re looking for a hand or foot pump to quickly inflate a small dinghy, or a high pressure electric boat pump for extremely quick inflation - we have a great choice of inflatable boat pumps and adaptors to suit your needs.
Rechargeable and High Pressure Air Pumps for Inflatable Boats
High pressure inflatable boat pumps make the inflation ofinflatable dinghies, paddleboards and other inflatables a breeze. Furthermore, many boat pumps can be powered or re-charged using a 12V socket and also feature automatic cut-offs, so when the desired pressure is reached, the pump will switch off.
Our most popular high pressure pump isSevylor’s 12V High Pressure Pump which features the automatic shut-off mentioned above and can also be used with low-pressure inflatables such as lake floats.
How do you inflate a dinghy?
Inflating a dinghy is easy, here's a quick guide:
- Lay out the dinghy.
- Remove the valve covers.
- Pump each chamber up to around 50%.
- Install the floor & seat (if applicable).
- Inflate both sides to 90%, then 100%.
- Inflate the keel (if applicable).
More information can be found in our inflatable dinghy guide.
Can you leave an inflatable boat inflated?
You can, but it’s not something we recommend as constant changes in temperature will reduce the life of the fabric on the dinghy. Constant exposure to direct sunlight will expand the fabric, whilst cold temperatures will cause the fabric to shrivel. As we get a combination of both in the UK, it’s worth just deflating and then reinflating the dinghy.
