Dometic's ColdMachine 55 is an entry-level unit designed for small refrigeration capacities and operation in cool waters. It comes with an O-evaporator suitable for installation in both chest and upright refrigerators.
This model is ideal for cooling capacities up to approximately 130 litres maximum for normal refrigeration with direct evaporators, or 100 litres maximum when using cold accumulators. The unit is suitable for floor mounting and features a dynamically ventilated wire tube condenser along with a corrosion-resistant stainless steel mounting plate.
The ColdMachine 55 operates with a 230-volt connection via a low-cost mains adaptor and is also suitable for solar operation. Users can choose from three evaporator types and one cold accumulator. The unit runs on 12/24 volts DC, with a power input of approximately 35 or 40 watts depending on the evaporator type.
The system incorporates a fully hermetic compressor with control electronics, integrated low-voltage protection, low-voltage cut-off, electronic reverse pole protection, and self-sealing valve couplings. Its dimensions are 220 x 160 x 220 mm (W x H x D) with a weight of approximately 6.5 kg.
The O-Evaporator VD-07 includes a thermostat with an LED indicator. It offers cooling capacities of 100 litres maximum with 35 mm PU insulation, and up to 130 litres maximum with 50 mm PU insulation. Power input is approximately 35 watts.
Current consumption is 1.46 Ah/h with 35 mm PU insulation and 1.17 Ah/h with 50 mm PU insulation, both measured at an interior temperature of +5 °C, ambient temperature of +32 °C, and medium cooling capacity.
The system features a standard O-evaporator for horizontal or vertical installation, self-sealing valve couplings, a flexible connection pipe of approximately 2 metres, and a continuously variable thermostat designed for external installation. The thermostat comes in a white plastic housing with a blue turning knob and LED indicator. An electric supply cord of approximately 3 metres is also included.
