The housing was created by a renowned American product designer, combining a clean, functional exterior with a durable construction. The casing is made from plastic, while the back is built from a corrosion-resistant non-magnetic metal. For vertical mounting, the unit also includes drip water protection, meeting IP22 standards and ABYC drip test requirements.
Cooling is managed by thermostatically controlled draft fans, with variable speeds that respond to the internal temperature of the unit. This keeps noise to a minimum. Power consumption is also adjustable, with the ability to operate at 100%, 75%, 50% or 25%. Settings can be controlled from the front panel or via the remote, making it ideal for use with smaller generators or limited power supplies, while also reducing fan noise.
The Pro Charge Ultra includes 11 preset charging characteristics for battery types including Gel, AGM, sealed, open, calcium and LiFePO4. A customisable setting allows you to input specific absorption and float voltages if needed. Once a week, the charger automatically performs a desulphation, equalisation, and anti-stratification program to keep batteries healthy and extend their lifespan.
For monitoring, the unit is equipped with two LED matrix displays - one showing voltage output, the other displaying current. An LED bar quickly indicates battery performance percentage, while 32 built-in LEDs provide detailed information such as charging status, battery chemistry selection, and warnings for temperature or voltage issues.
Finally, the 12V battery charger has a built-in redundant safety system, offering an additional layer of protection should the main processor fail, ensuring the device shuts down safely and securely.
