With 11 charging algorithms, IP22 protection, and increased efficiency, Sterling's Pro Charge Ultra represents fantastic value for money. Using modern synchronised rectification with MOSFET technology, it is around 9% more effective than earlier designs, producing less heat and offering greater efficiency.

The housing was created by a renowned American product designer, combining clean, functional lines with a durable structure. It features a plastic casing with a corrosion-resistant, non-magnetic metal back. For vertical mounting, the unit provides drip water protection, meeting IP22 standards and ABYC drip test requirements.

Cooling is handled by thermostatically controlled draft fans that automatically adjust speed according to internal temperature, keeping noise to a minimum. Power consumption can also be adjusted to 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25%, either via the front panel or remote control. This is especially useful with small generators or limited power supplies and helps reduce fan noise by lowering heat levels.

The Pro Charge Ultra battery charger supports 11 preset charging characteristics to suit Gel, AGM, sealed, open, calcium, and LiFePO4 batteries. For added flexibility, a customisable mode allows users to input specific absorption and float voltages. To extend battery life, the unit also performs a weekly automatic desulphation, equalisation, and anti-stratification program.

Monitoring is simple with two LED matrix displays, one showing voltage output and the other current, as well as an LED bar that indicates the battery’s operating percentage at a glance. A further 32 integrated LEDs provide detailed information including charging status, selected battery chemistry, and temperature or voltage warnings.

For peace of mind, a redundant safety system is included. In the rare event that the main processor fails, a backup system will shut the device down safely, doubling overall security.
