Ball Valves:

Ball valves are one of the most widely used valves in marine applications. They consist of a spherical disc (the ball) with a hole through its centre. When the handle is aligned with the pipe, the valve is open, allowing fluid to flow freely. When the handle is turned 90 degrees, the ball blocks the flow, closing the valve. Ball valves are known for their reliability, quick operation, and tight shut-off capabilities.

Check Valves:

Also known as non-return valves, check valves allow fluid to flow in one direction only. They prevent backflow, which is essential in systems where reverse flow could cause damage or contamination. Check valves are used in various marine applications, such as in bilge pumps and engine cooling systems.
